Where I’d buy it

Sony’s own product page blocked my reader, so I have no verified Sony link. Best Buy, where I read the $378, comes first.

History
Best Buy badges $378 as its lowest price in 365 days. Technobezz reported the same $378 at Amazon (Midnight Blue) on Oct 5, below 30-, 90- and 180-day averages of $449.71, $424.26 and $422.30; I could not re-read that page on Oct 7.

Why I’d buy, why I’d skip

Why I’d buy

  • You want proven over-ear noise cancelling and would rather not pay the $459.99 list price.
  • You travel; it folds into a compact case.

Why I’d skip

  • You want open-ear or on-ear headphones.
  • Battery life beats silence for you. The Nothing Headphone (a) is rated for 135 hours at $129.

What holds up

  • The price clears a real history test: Best Buy itself badges $378 as its lowest in a year, and Technobezz put it about $44 under the six-month average on Oct 5.
  • Two stores had the same $378 within two days, so this is not one colour at one retailer.
  • It is the safe pick in my headphones appraisal, with the strongest evidence of the three.

What to weigh

  • I read the Black listing. Other finishes may cost more on the same day.
  • Sony’s own pages blocked my reader, so the processor and microphone counts rest on Technobezz’s summary of the listing.
  • I have not worn these. Comfort and sound comments come from TechRadar and Sony’s listing, not from me.
