Disclosure

How this site makes money, how every link is labelled, and what that does and doesn't change.

The short version

Saraf Bazar may earn a commission when you buy through a retailer link marked “Paid link”. The retailer pays it. Your price is the same.

Every guide and product page says this at the top, and again next to the first retailer button. Each button also carries its own label:

  • Paid link. I earn a commission if you buy through it.
  • No commission on this link. I earn nothing from it.

Today every retailer link on the site is marked “No commission on this link”. No affiliate programme has approved Saraf Bazar yet, so links go straight to the retailer’s page with no tracking tag. When a programme approves the site, the labels on its links change to “Paid link” automatically, and this page will name the programme.

Retailer buttons point at addresses like sarafbazar.com/go/sony-wh-1000xm6-amazon. That address sends you on to the retailer and records that a click happened: the time, the page you came from, any campaign tags in the link, a contributor’s referral code if the link carried one, and the country Cloudflare reports. It does not record your IP address, set a cookie or identify you. Details are in the privacy policy. I never hide where a link goes: the retailer sees that you came from sarafbazar.com.

Products I can never earn from

Some programmes exclude specific products. When I know that, the page says so. DJI’s affiliate terms exclude the DJI Mini 5 Pro, so no link on that page can earn a commission, now or later.

What commission doesn’t change

  • Verdicts. I publish “wait” and “skip” calls on products I could earn from.
  • Which retailer I point to. I link where my dated source found the price.
  • What I say about testing. I claim hands-on testing only when I did it, and today I haven’t.

Contributors and referral codes

Contributors can share links with their own referral code (for example ?ref=sb). The code tells me which contributor’s share led to a click. It is my own first-party tag, not an affiliate network ID, and it is never sent to the retailer. Contributors who are paid by the site, or who have any other relationship a reader should know about, say so on their profile and next to their work.

Rules I follow

Saraf Bazar is written for US buyers, so it follows the US Federal Trade Commission’s Endorsement Guides: disclosure has to be clear, close to the recommendation, and on every page rather than only in a footer. Its operator is based in India, so the site also follows the Advertising Standards Council of India’s guidelines on disclosing material connections upfront and prominently. Where a programme asks for specific wording, I use it. If Saraf Bazar joins Amazon Associates, Amazon’s required statement will appear here and in the footer.

Things I don’t do

  • Hide or cloak where a link goes.
  • Publish coupon codes I weren’t given, or expired codes.
  • Accept payment for positive coverage.
  • Invent reviews, reviewers, testimonials or ratings.
