Dreame vs MOVA vs Roborock: robot vacuums appraised (October 2026)
A live r/RobotVacuums thread pits Dreame against MOVA. I add Roborock and line up the prices, the docks and the catches.
Research-based. I haven’t used or tested these products myself. How I appraise
These prices were checked up to Oct 3, 2026 and may have changed. Check the retailer before you buy.
The short appraisal
- Best value, if you can find one: MOVA V50 Ultra Complete, listed at $748 on MOVA’s US store on Oct 7 (regular $1,099) with both colours sold out. Strong cleaning reviews, weaker obstacle avoidance.
- Best for mixed floors and hands-off mopping: Dreame Matrix10 Ultra, which Technobezz reported at $1,399.99 on Amazon on Oct 3 in a deal listed to end Oct 7. Dreame lists it at $1,999.99. At list price, wait.
- Flagship navigation: Roborock Saros 20 at $1,199.99 (from $1,599.99), or the Qrevo Edge 3 Pro at $999.99. Both prices come from a post Roborock paid for.
- Best under $500: Roborock Qrevo 2 Pro at $499.99.
Who should skip
- A flagship dock if you don’t mop. You’d be paying for hardware you won’t use.
- The MOVA V50 if your floor is an obstacle course. Avoidance is its weak spot.
- Choosing on suction figures. They’re manufacturer numbers and poor predictors on their own.
Where to buy
- MOVA V50 Ultra Complete

- Dreame Matrix10 Ultra
The Dreame deal price is Amazon’s, per Technobezz on October 3; that page could not be re-read, and the deal was listed to end October 7. The MOVA price is MOVA’s own US store on October 7, where both colours showed as sold out. Roborock’s prices come from a post Roborock paid for.
A robot vacuum is now two products: the robot and the dock. The robot decides how clean the floor gets. The dock decides how often you touch the thing. Most of the price difference between a $500 and a $1,400 machine is in the dock and in obstacle avoidance, not suction.
There’s a live r/RobotVacuums thread pitting the Dreame Matrix10 Ultra against the MOVA V50. Here’s how they compare on the record.
The line-up at a glance
| Model | Suction (brand figure) | Dated price | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Roborock Qrevo 2 Pro | 20,000Pa | $499.99 (reg. $799.99) | 9to5Toys sponsored post, Oct 5 |
| MOVA V50 Ultra Complete | 24,000Pa | $748 on Oct 7, sold out (reg. $1,099); $699 on Oct 6 | MOVA US store |
| Roborock Qrevo Edge 3 Pro | 36,000Pa | $999.99 (reg. $1,499.99) | 9to5Toys sponsored post |
| Roborock Saros 20 | 36,000Pa | $1,199.99 (reg. $1,599.99) | 9to5Toys sponsored post |
| Dreame Matrix10 Ultra | 30,000Pa | $1,399.99 deal, Oct 3, listed to end Oct 7 (not re-read); $1,999.99 list at Dreame | Technobezz, Oct 3; Dreame |
A note on sources. The Roborock prices come from a 9to5Toys post that is labelled sponsored, meaning Roborock paid for it. The prices are still useful, but I treat its adjectives as advertising. Suction figures are manufacturer numbers in pascals, and they’re poor predictors of real pickup on their own.
Dreame Matrix10 Ultra: the mop specialist
The Matrix10 Ultra’s headline feature is its Multi-Mop Switching Dock, which picks a different mop pad for different areas to avoid cross-contamination, with a three-solution compartment for different floor cleaners. It also claims 30,000Pa of suction, threshold climbing up to 3.15 inches, avoidance of more than 240 object types, and a dock that washes mop pads at 212°F, all on Dreame’s own product page, which also lists it at $1,999.99 (Dreame).
Price check: Technobezz reported $1,399.99 at Amazon on October 3, matching its lowest recorded price and below its 90-day ($1,688.46) and 180-day ($1,702.28) averages. That would pass my basic “is this a real deal” test. Two cautions: I could not re-read Technobezz or Amazon on October 7, so the deal price and its history are unverified; and the deal was listed as expiring October 7 at 11 PDT. If the price you see is near the $1,999.99 list, the October case for buying is gone.
Who it’s for: homes with a mix of hard floors and rugs where mopping is the chore you actually hate. If you don’t mop, you’re paying for a dock you won’t use.
MOVA V50 Ultra Complete: the value pick with one weak spot
Vacuum Chef describes MOVA as a sister brand to Dreame (Vacuum Chef). The V50 Ultra Complete claims 24,000Pa of suction, hot-water mop washing and an auto-empty dock. MOVA’s US store listed it at $748 against a $1,099 regular price on October 7, up from $699 the day before, and both colours showed as sold out or unavailable (MOVA US). The listing’s address ends in “live-only”, which may mean it is a livestream SKU; I have not found the standard listing.
What reviewers say:
- Vacuum Wars says it bought and tested the V50 Ultra, and ranked it #1 on its Top 20 robot vacuums for a time. An October 7, 2026 update says a newer model has since taken that spot (Vacuum Wars).
- Best Robot Vacuums called it the best-value robot it has tested in 2026, and named its one real weakness as below-average obstacle avoidance, with advice to keep floors fairly tidy (Best Robot Vacuums). That page could not be re-read on October 7, so treat the quote as my first reading.
- Feature Lens flags a bulky dock and ongoing consumable costs, and says it fits larger homes and pet owners best (Feature Lens).
My read: if your floors are usually clear of cables, socks and pet toys, the V50 is the strongest value in this comparison, when it is in stock. If your floor is an obstacle course, pay more for better avoidance.
Roborock: prices from a sponsored post
These Roborock prices come from the sponsored 9to5Toys post dated October 5:
- Saros 20, $1,199.99: 36,000Pa, StarSight Autonomous System 2.0 (3D ToF sensors plus an RGB camera) that recognises more than 300 objects, double-layer threshold climbing up to 3.46 inches, a 3.13-inch-tall body for low furniture, and a dock that washes mops at 212°F and auto-empties for up to 65 days (9to5Toys, sponsored).
- Qrevo Edge 3 Pro, $999.99: the same 36,000Pa and threshold figures, warm-water mopping with up to 14N of downward pressure, and 300+ object recognition. The post calls it the lowest price on this model.
- Qrevo 2 Pro, $499.99: 20,000Pa, a dual zero-tangle brush, mop pads that lift 15mm or detach on carpet, and an all-in-one dock with 149°F mop washing.
My read: the Qrevo Edge 3 Pro at $999.99 is the sweet spot if you want Roborock’s navigation without paying flagship money. The Qrevo 2 Pro is the one to beat under $500.
What actually matters when you choose
- Obstacle avoidance over suction. Every robot here claims a five-figure pascal number. The one that doesn’t eat your phone charger is the one you’ll keep running.
- Thresholds. Measure your tallest door sill. Several models now claim 3 inches or more on double-layer transitions. Older homes need that.
- Dock size and consumables. Mop pads, bags, filters and cleaning solution are a running cost. Feature Lens flags it for MOVA, and it applies to all of them.
- Under-furniture height. If your sofa sits low, check the robot’s height. Roborock lists 3.13 inches for the Saros 20.
- Price history, not the “was” price. The Dreame deal passed because it was below its 90- and 180-day averages, not because it was “30% off”. At list price it doesn’t pass at all.
The saraf’s verdict
Buy the MOVA V50 if your floors are tidy, you want flagship cleaning at mid-range money, and you can find one in stock near $750. Buy the Dreame Matrix10 Ultra if mopping mixed floors without touching a pad is the whole point and it comes back near $1,400; at its $1,999.99 list, wait. Buy a Roborock (Qrevo Edge 3 Pro or Saros 20) if you want 3D obstacle recognition of more than 300 objects, by Roborock’s figures. And whichever you pick, tidy the cables first. No dock does that for you.
